Wotzal F.A.Q.
How much does Wotzal cost?
Nothing, it's completely free to use. We may decide to make it a commercial product one day, but we have no plans to do so at the moment. If the costs of hosting Wotzal become problematic in future, our first effort at covering those costs would be to seek sponsorship for the hosting, keeping the product non-profit.
We have built this website and made it available for free because we believe that learning maths is incredibly important, and resources like Wotzal should not be only available to those who are willing and able to pay for them.
Added Bytes, the company that created and runs Wotzal, earns its money from Readable.com and its other commercial digital products. We have a long history of running free websites, including CrosswordCheats.com and Mathaversaries.com which we've kept free for over a decade.
Who runs Wotzal?
Wotzal is run by a UK Limited Company, Added Bytes Ltd. You can find out more about us on our website.
What does my "Wotzal rating" mean?
Each user on Wotzal gets a rating, based on the questions they get right and wrong. The rating system is designed to ensure that people are given puzzles that are roughly at their current maths level. As you practice more puzzles and progress in your skills, your rating will increase and you'll be given harder puzzles.
What does "Wotzal" mean?
We have no idea, we were just chuffed to find an available, pronounceable, memorable, six-letter dotcom we could use for this project.
How many puzzles are there on Wotzal?
Wotzal currently has 806,976 maths puzzles.
Can I focus on just one type of puzzle?
Yes, absolutely. Each puzzle has tags that you can see when doing the puzzle or on its permalink. Clicking a tag will filter puzzles so you'll only see puzzles of that type. So clicking on "clocks" will take you to https://wotzal.com/clocks, where you will only see clock puzzles.
Can I suggest a new puzzle type for Wotzal?
Yes, please do! You can email suggestions or questions to us at hi@wotzal.com.
